There are three basic questions we all ask at some point in our lives. The sooner we get answers to the questions the sooner we can find peace. Those questions are who, why and what. Who am I? Why am I here and what am I supposed to do? We will take the three and try to answer them in order.

In our earlier blogs we looked at success, purpose and discipline. These are very important foundations to build upon when we talk about discipleship. Jesus never commanded his disciples to build his church. He said I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. The word translated church her is the Greek word, Ecclesia. It was not a religious term. Actually, it was a political term.

Jesus called his followers disciples. The meaning of disciple is a disciplined learner. It doesn’t do any good to read the manual, the Bible and not do what it says. There are three things that we are encouraged to obtain. Knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Knowledge is information, understanding is comprehension and wisdom is application. In simple terms that means to read the manual, understand it and apply it. Some fail to read it some fail to understand it and most fail

A long our journey of success, we find our purpose. It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention. In other words, there was a purpose for everything that has been made. We are no different, God had a purpose for your life before you were born. He wanted you to accomplish something that only you could do. According to the manual, the Bible, you were fearfully and wonderfully made. The key is to get in step with the creator.

Everyone has their own definition of success. I once had my own definition until I found the true meaning. It isn’t a destination but rather a journey. It is all about getting there and not being there. Of course, we enjoy the fruits of our labors but that shouldn’t be the goal. All of the principles that we teach come straight out of the book of life, the Bible. A lot of people might be turned off when they hear that last statement.
